If I click G on my Gmail Compose button still the first link that appears is Golam Mostafa Sarowar [Sagar]. We have links in Skype and Facebook as well. We used to regularly exchange mails or chat. But we know and rest of the world knows Sagar along with his darling wife Runi has gone beyond all contacts. They can never respond to any call. Cruel killers through gruesome murder have taken them away from all of us – friends and admirers. Their innocent Son Megh lost the most valuable possessions of his life. Himself he witnesses the murder. I have no words to express my shock and feelings. Sagar –Runi were like my own younger brothers and sisters. They were so honest, sober and amiable that I cannot even imagine that they can have such cruel fate. How can they have such enemies? Who can kill them?
I knew Sagar since 1997 when he was working in Ittefaq. Vey often he used to talk to me about Energy related matters. I came to know Runi in 2001 when Meherun Runi became popular as reporter of ATN Bangla. She was the first reporter to interview me about SCADA System of Gas Grid. From then on I knew both of them individually but never knew that they had an affair till Sagar one day invited me on their marriage. I asked him who the bride is. He was shy but told me you know her very well. I could not attend the marriage as I was overseas at that time. My intimacy with Sagar grew when Sagar –Amjad and others formed Energy Journalist Forum. Amzad started Energy & Power where I was given special permission by the then State Minister of Energy to contribute. We used to meet occasionally at Amjad’s office. The energy journalist forum assisted me so much in confronting energy mafia syndicate which used to pilfer condensate from North –South Condensate pipeline. Sagar wrote so many useful positive reports in his column in Ittefaq.
In 2005 I had to leave Petrobangla job and Bangladesh failing to deal with corrupt syndicate and regime. Two persons always had my link were Sagar and Amzad. One fine morning when working on a Multi Billion Dollar Recycled water project in Queensland Sagar mailed me informing that they launched a massive venture for a Web based Energy Magazine Energy Bangla and requested me to write for it. That was 2007. For the last 5 years I was an integral part of Sagar’s Energy Bangla. Sagar had such an appeal in his voice that I could never say no whenever he asked me to write on anything.
Sagar moved to Germany to work for German Radio and after one year Runi and Megh also joined him. We used to talk very often on Skype. Most of the time Runi used to respond as Sagar usually had night shift. Runi informed me of her German Language learning progress. At one stage the couple expressed their desire to migrate to Australia. They even sent their CV and I started talking to Immigration Lawyers.
Later in 2010 I took a job in Kabul Afghanistan and Sagar-Runi planned to return to Bangladesh. We continued talking on Skype and chat on Gmail. In 2011 I visited Bangladesh 3 times in July, October and December. Sagar Joined Maasranga TV as News Editor and Runi returned to her ATN. Sagar Anchored tow TV Talk Show for me in October 2011 and January 2012. In January 2012 we spent several hours planning how to make Energy Bangla more professional. Sagar and Rafiqul and Bashar met me at least twice in January 2012 regarding Energy Bangla.
Sagar also invited me to have dinner in their house in January 2012 which I failed to attend as I became sick. I never knew that they will leave so early and that through gruesome murder by criminals in their own house.
My last chat with Sagar was on 3rd February when he requested me to cover BPL for his Energy Bangla. Sagar was also my family friend. He presented his last book to my wife when I left Bangladesh on 17th January 2012 for Melbourne.
In my 28 years professional life in Bangladesh and 6 years abroad as Energy Professional, Sports writer, Energy Writer I met so many persons of so many different countries. I have hardly seen a better person than Sagar. Soft spoken, ever smiley, determined. He was a matured super star in media world. So was Meherun Runi. They very loved parents too. Megh was their main dream. Very often I had to say hallo to Megh on Skype when he was around.
Sagar and Runi I can only pray for you now. I am planning to do something for Megh. We must take care of him as he is now our only link with you. May God bless you both with Jannat. I also strongly demand highest punishment of the killers of my beloved brother Sagar and Sister Runi.

So touching memory!! I had no idea! We have lost them or we should say some rogues have snatched them away from us. May Allah forgive them and punish their killers. Amen.
